The Pennines North to South

An exhibition of monochrome photography

Hallbankgate Hub, June 27th to August 6th 2023

I'm delighted to announce my solo exhibition "The Pennines - North to South" at Hallbankgate Hub this summer. The exhibition features work taken over many years while living in or near the Pennines, the backbone of England.

The Pennine range is broken up into a number of areas - the Peak District national park, the South Pennines roughly centred on Halifax and Hebden Bridge, the Yorkshire Dales national park, and the North Pennines AONB. Some people say that's where the range stops, others include the Tyne Gap and right up into the Cheviots.

Each area has great diversity and each its own character but all are recognisably Pennines. The landscape often appears wild but it is very much man-made. Farming, sheep grazing, mining, tourism, industry and urbanisation have all left their mark. My pictures often make use of features that man has introduced, fences, walls, roads and paths.

The exhibition features framed work in a variety of sizes and prices. The Hub is open every day and the exhibition runs from June 27th to August 6th.
